Color on Web Pages

From the article I learned the most effective ways of using color. By only adding 4 colors one being a background another being a main color and the other 2 as contracting highlighting colors. This gives your page enough color to keep people interested and isn't boring but its not to much to confuse the viewer and sway them away from using the page. I also learned that if the site will be displaying lots of images the colors should try to match the 4 most common within the images. It's important to use color as highlighting because it draws the eye to it however you should'nt rely on it with code.

One good example of color use is: http://www.surfline.com/home/index.cfm
This is a surfing website the main color being blue which fits most images displayed along with highlighting colors of white and orange.

A bad example of color use is: http://members.tripod.com/nwr_home/rainbow.html
This is a bad example there is no highlighting colors the type is all in one color and the backgroudn and horizontal lines are a very distracting rainbow. The important part which is the font doesnt stand out at all.
